ASI is seeking a Reliability Engineer / Operations Research Analyst to work in Crystal City. The candidate will provide Reliability and Maintenance Engineering and Operations Research analytical expertise to an aviation/ground vehicle/facility operations and sustainment organization.

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Build models of various programs and their maintenance and support systems in order to analyze and evaluate throughput, and identify key metrics and improvement opportunities using Simulation with Arena application
  • Perform statistical analyses for various systems using failure and maintenance data and other data sources to assess, analyze, and predict failure behavior and Reliability using various statistical distributions
  • Perform Optimization of Maintenance Actions utilizing provided software that optimizes Preventative Maintenance, Inspection Schedules, and Predictive Maintenance
  • Perform Failure Modes Effects, and Criticality Analyses (FMECAs)
  • Provide Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) support; identify safety, structural, functional, and economic significant items
  • Research and provide Reliability Block Diagrams of failure modes and systems in order to model and simulate various scenarios
  • Assist in maintaining and providing tracking of a Maintainability Statistical Data Base for assemblies/sub-assemblies
  • Perform Level of Repair Analyses (LORAs) to support maintenance and logistical decision making
  • Perform various statistical analyses (such as correlation analyses, factor analyses, and ANOVA) to identify and assess trends and relationships among variables to improve system/subsystem performance
  • Perform other duties as tasked

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics and/or Mathematics
  • Knowledge or experience with Modeling and Simulation tools such as Simulation with Arena, OPUS, AVSIM, BlockSIM, etc.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to use other statistical or modeling tools (Minitab, Matlab, etc.)
  • Ability to take proactive approach to identifying organizational maintenance and logistical requirements and developing course of action for implementation strategy
  • Be willing to work overtime on occasion

 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be qualified to obtain, currently hold, or have held a Secret Clearance
